Drug Test Certification FAQs - most asked questions about
certification
1. WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
· Once we receive payment for the class we will
email the materials that need to be read. Once you have finished reading the
materials we will send you your logins to take the online course and exams.
Next the mock collections are done via webcam. The final step is to mail the
training chain of custody forms to Transmetron for review. If they are “Error
Free” as the DOT regulates certificates will be issued and mailed out.
2. IS THERE A TIME LIMIT FOR GETTING IT DONE?
· These classes are done at your own pace. You
have as much time as you need to complete the courses. The only training course
that has a time limit is the BAT course. You have 30 days to complete the
Proficiencies from the date you complete the online course (a DOT regulated
mandate).
3. DO YOU PROVIDE SUPPLIES?
· The cost of supplies is not included in the
training price. You can purchase supplies needed for any of the classes we
offer by contacting us at (801) 596-2709
4. WHAT SUPPLIES DO WE NEED?
· Please see our list of “Materials and Supplies to
have on hand” at
www.TransmetronTraining.com.
5. DO YOU PROVIDE THE WEBCAM?
· You are responsible for providing the webcam for
your class. We do have them available for sale if you do not have one.
6. WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU USE FOR THE WEBCAM?
· Skype and Google Voice and Video Chat are the 2
programs we use. If you need assistance in installing either of these 2
programs please contact us.
7. WHAT IF I DON’T PASS THE EXAM?
· If you do not pass the exam on the first try contact
our staff and we can reset the exam for you again. If you do not pass a second
time we ask that you please review the materials before contacting us to reset
the exam again. If you fail a third time we will not reset the exam until you
have re-read the 49 CFR Part 40 and the Collector Guidelines.
8. WHAT IS THE SUCCESS RATE? HOW MANY PEOPLE PASS THE
COURSE?
· Anyone with a High School education can pass the
course. We have not had anyone not complete and pass the course to date.
9. IS THIS CERTIFICATE GOOD ONLY IN MY STATE?
· The certification is valid for the United States
and Canada
10. IF I COMPLETE THE DOT CERTIFICATION COURSE DOES THAT
ALSO CERTIFY ME TO DO NON-DOT?
· Yes. If you are certified to do DOT collections
you are also certified to do NON-DOT collections. If you certify in the NON-DOT

would like to be certified for Urine Drug Screen collector that you complete the
DOT course.
